Dr. Stowe Burke, DVM was born in Saratoga Springs and is a graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. His grandfather, the late Robert J. “Bobby” Burke (1925-2017) was influential in Dr. Stowe Burke’s life and nurtured his love of horses and horsemanship. Mr. Burke was an iconic horseman in a variety of disciplines, including hunters, jumpers, racing and breeding and was inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame in 2001. Stowe has continued the family legacy through a lifetime of involvement in many different facets of the equine industry: broodmares, foaling, yearling sales, polo, show jumping, and racing. As a racetrack veterinarian, he worked with the nation’s top trainers on horses who went won to win the Kentucky Derby, the Dubai World Cup, and many Breeders’ Cup races. Stowe lives on the Burke Equine facility with his wife Caroline and two children, Minnie and Henry.
